Did we buy any car a wee while ago and gave £14250. I'll see what my local dealer says. Last time i was in he admired the car even with the Milltek exhaust on. Carwow didn't list the GTi model as an option.
Call me cynical, but a dealer will almost always admire your car and tell you what they think you want to hear so they can hook you in, and quickly become your 'best friend'. It would be unfair to tar all salespeople with the same brush as there are some pretty decent ones out there, but admiration for your car doesn't usually equate to top book price, or getting the best deal overall for you.
The Polo GTI might be a recent addition on the Carwow site and could be the reason it wasn't listed when you looked, but I've just gone on their website this morning, specc'd one up and asked for quotes. I'll post up the offers when they come through.
EDIT; first Carwow offer has just come through; specc'd as a 3 door pure white Polo GTI, with Light and Sight pack, Cruise and Park pack and electric folding mirrors. List price; 19,820. Cash price; 18,058 (8.9% discount), price with finance offer; 17,058 (13.9% discount). Includes 2 years free servicing from this dealer. I'd expect some of the other offers I get sent will better this (see below).
Second Carwow offer; Cash price £17,867 (9.9% discount), Finance offer £16,867 (14.9% discount).
Whatever route you decide to go, good luck, but I can't stress enough the importance of doing your research first, so you can be fully prepared and get the deal that's right for you, if you decide to buy the traditional route through a VW dealership near you.
