Recommendations for thermos or USB charger?
« on: 21 February 2015, 14:19 »
With my commute about to increase significantly, I need to pimp my accessories.

Has anyone got any recommendations for a thermos cup or 12V USB charger, that have worked well for them in their MK7?

I wish I'd bought one of these from the VW stand at last year's Goodwood......

It's the same size as the exhaust tailpipe

I've had my GTI thermo mug a couple of years. Love it.
It stays hot for a good few hours and has a push button top which is great using while driving (only one hand needed). Fits perfectly in the cup holder as you'd expect.
Dishwasher proof.

It is certainly a quality item.

That's a nice mug! Yeah, definitely looks quality.

Is it hard to get hold of then evo GT? I have a 10% off voucher for accessories from my service this week (redeemable at the dealers).

Got mine from the Wolfsburg factory on a visit a couple of years ago.

The VAG "department store" in Berlin near the Brandenburg gate is well worth a look to buy everything VW related too. Got within 3 feet of a Veyron when they'd just come out, but no closer! Lots of security willing to step in if you got too close. Got to sit in a few Bentleys too. VW would've had that Veyron paid for in a month if they were prepared to let people sit in it for a pic with a 20 Euro fee.

Puzzling why Audi got its own separate building down the road when VW, Lambo, Seat, Skoda, Bentley and Bugatti were all in the same building.

Might pay Berlin a visit in the Summer and pick up a few things that are either impossible to get over here, or are extortionate.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I ended up going for the below:

USB charging:
I decided a cleaner approach was to use the MDI socket for charging so I can pop my phone in the front compartment and even use the USB connectivity if it proves useful (I currently only use Bluetooth).

MDI to USB cable
Short right angled USB (My phone being Micro USB)

Thermos:
Going for some GTI bling, why not eh?
