Thing I need help with :P Dash lights and heater stuff

I just got my first MK2. 1990 1.3L Carb 4+E and alls fine apart from a few pretty important but small things.
1. The heaters dont heat, im pretty sure this is a problem with the foam coming off the heater doors but not sure as sometime the blowers work and other times don't even turn on.
2. None of the lights on the heater controls work. They did work earlier for about 10 minutes but then I turned off the headlights and they won't come on again.
3. I was also trying to wire up a pioneer headunit but it wont turn on because I dont have an iso harness that fits the golf with the pins in the right place. Is there any where I can buy a direct fit harness that with plug and play with very little modding needed?
Too make the job easier, could any replies be done with step by step instructions on how to fix the issue lease?

1. http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=68989.0 (have fun. I've just done this and it's a ... Fun... Job). If the blower doesn't work, then it could be the switch, when you take the dash out for the matrix check it's plugged in right. Or you could have a dodgy blower. Cheap and easy to fit if so.

2. I'm sue you can replace the bulb, but this is easier (http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=151553338035). Do it while you are doing number one.
