Just been 'crashed' into...
« on: 22 December 2014, 20:14 »
My GF's house mate managed to reverse into my O/S rear quarter

He must have been smoking meth to have bumped me given the circumstances, but, it happened, and now there is a nasty dent and scratches just beneath the filler cap and some on the bumper.

Pics to follow.....

But, basically, he is happy to pay for it rather than claiming, now this panel obviously isn't removable, but is it double skinned? Anyone and experience in this sort of repair?

that area is harder to repair that say the front wing a small dent will see the insurance company write it off due to age and repair costs

I see it on a daily basis cars being repaired and written off for minor damage and having it repaired to a good standard means replacing the panel

Heared a new piece can be put in but its a cut and weld job etc. just take it to a body shop and get a quote for repair let them worry about it

bill for my Passat with similar type of damage was £800, the insurers repaired it despite it being worth little more than that!!
