OP, I think the answer is no.  I dismantled my fitted wardrobe this week to make room for a built in office / desk cupboards in the space that it was in.  The doors to it are pretty much the dimensions you are describing give or take a couple of cm.  I decided to put on it Gumtree for free collection rather than take to the tip as I managed to get it out cleanly and it was too good to go to landfill.  The chap who turned up had an Octavia, we just about managed to get it in with ratchet straps to keep the boot closed.  Reckon you could do damage to the interior trying to get it into a smaller space and not worth it at all imo.

Thanks everyone, in the end I went with the demo option. With some smashing and bending I managed to folder them over, halving the size.

When I started to read that and saw “demo option” I thought what an inspired idea...

Pop down to a local car showroom, borrow an estate car for a test drive, shove the offending wardrobe in, take to dump, return car, tell them it’s not for you, return home

Still, beating the crap out of it to get it to fit your boot sounds more fun.
