evil rust
« on: 18 September 2014, 11:14 »
well im getting a wing replaced on warranty, but wow did they make me feel unwelcome. asking simple questions like why do u think my wing has already been replaced?(other side from one thats being replaced on warranty) to be talked down 2 like i was a f**king imbecile. justified question from someone that has no clue about such things. then when i showed other bits of rust ive seen whilst cleaning the car so its ready for them for him to turn around and ask me well do you want your wing done or not??? the previous guy i delt with was far better very friendly didnt have all the answers, but was informative and kept me updated. this guy was a dick.

so in whole a mixed bag review for vw martins basingstoke. we will see when the car comes back. let u all know

Contact head office and complain about the customer service, try giving the guys name you dealt with. I know it's more of a good will gesture fixing this rust issue, but no need to speak to customers like that!

Personally, if I get rust, I'mgoing to ask for parts only then sell them to fund carbon wings. For a laugh!

well. I guess the guy was having a bad day, it happens to us all as he was alright when i collected. but this isnt the end.

so i have a nice new wing, with a fresh new scratch and somekind of dirt in the paint work, before ive even collected it. apparently it will buff out. he tried t-cut or what ever. did nothing. the body work people werent there so i couldnt wait whilst they tried it. i wanted my car rather than the sh!tty up! they gave me (i say sh!tty...not bad for what it is) so he said pop back when I have a free 15minutes. should have left it with them really but eh.

gutted about the scratch, got back to work parked up. noticed that they have reversed my car into something, or something went into the back of it as now there are chunks of missing paint around my number plate, all the way back to the plastic. phoned the managed today (they were closed by the time i got back and saw it) and he's basically palming me off. well i cant see how that could of happened...my response was well u managed to scratch a brand new wing.he didnt like that much.
im positive they werent there before as i checked everywhere before taking it to them (u should see the tiny spots ive pointed out to them, which arent covered by warranty as there apparently contaminants in the paint and the paint only has a 3 year warranty, tho the guy i first saw said i should persue this with customer service cuz they are very likely to offer something as goodwill)

basically they are sh!t. the manager is going to ask his work shop guys and get back to me...yeeeh like there going to confess to anything and he didnt even take my phone number. though he did know what car i was talking about.

truly disapointed with vw's customer service. if  you need warranty body work done dont take it there.

I am taking my car to an independent body shop for a respray, don't trust VW much these days! As advised, Volkswagen UK Headquarters need an angry e-mail, with pictures, and hopefully they will help you out and sort this garage out. I wish you luck.
