You could also notice that they changed the location of the brake fluid container from between the air filter pipe and the battery to the top left corner of the engine. No idea to why they would replace it though. In addition to that manifold cover; I collected my car in February and I do have the cover but I have no clue what build week my car is. I don't know if this has been asked before but is it possible to check what BW the car is from the VIN number? It would help confirming whether the cap is based on BW or just different countries because I have seen pictures of american GTIs with the trim fitted.

Are you sure the brake reservoir location is not changed due to different cars you have seen them on are left or right hand drive?

I'm not quite sure but I have seen them on both sides on GTIs in the states. I might be wrong and it could be correlated to the driver's position.
