I have been looking everywhere to find a home for my mk2 rocco project. Can get council lock ups and field storage, none of which make it viable to do any work on while it's there. Where are good places to look for car storage, I'm starting to consider going door to door for drive space as I'm getting desperate?
I had this problem a few months back. There was nothing which was affordable enough. The only option I had was to get it insured under my Dads name (I wouldnt be able to drive it), keep it insured and taxed (and therefore MOT'ed, tricky on a project) and leave it on the street, which was going to cost about £500 a year. So by far the cheapest. But being on a street is not ideal for a project. I almost asked a few neighbours with garages, but my plans changed so I didnt have to in the end.
Self storage style lockups are expensive, and only a few actually let you work on the car while you are there, so they werent an option either.
Other than being broken into every other week, why cant you work in a council garage?
