Bonnet lifter issue

Hey everyone,
Just a quick one - I purchased a 2nd hand airbox for my mk2 and upon going to open the bonnet I get nothing. It must be disconnected ass when I pull the lever nothing happens, its just loose.
Before I go have a look at it has anyone had the same issue?

Remove your vw badge from the grill the cable as probably popped off. Mine did it a few weeks back for no reason you can push the never with a screw driver and the bonnet will pop open.

thanks for the reply! I ended up just getting a screwdriver through the badge and popping it like that. It came out because the little clip by the air box has snapped off.
