Hello folks...
« on: 11 August 2014, 04:49 »
Think I'v been a long term admirer of the golf, had a MK2 as one of my first cars and that was it, but recently took the plunge and got a good deal against my car and a lovely RB Golf MK6 fell in my lap,
will get a WIP thread up soon, great forum guys.

Cheers Booth for the welcome, had no real proper pics done yet I have a few on my phone, that GTI of yours looks mint, bet it wants for nothing,  it was a long drive to bring this home, but worth it, a pleasure to drive.

Not kean on the shape of the MK7G, my next R will probably be a low mile, later model MK6, in same colour, or the MK8R maybe out then, I'm a big fan of the MK5/6 shape Golf, I was tempted by a mint MK5 ED30.

Have to agree with you that the mk6 is a better shape and overall better looking car, and that goes for the gti as well as the R.  But with the mk7 R it's the improvements in chassis, handling etc out of the box that tempt me (I'm not a performance modder).  Now wonder what the mk8 will look like??

Also a fan of the mk5 having had two mk5 gtis myself.

The chassis on the MK6 is no slouch, I love it, but maybe if the MK8R gets the looks of Mk6, we could be on a real winner.
