last year i ran over a piece of exhaust pipe in the road and put a hole in the sump, didn't drive very far then i pulled over AA jobbie to tow me home, anyway got a new sump on and flushed the engine for 5 minutes with clean oil then replaced that with clean oil,

two days later oil pressure light comes on so i take it back to the garage and said it could be the oil pressure switch playing up, so replaced that with no joy and it will go off after 20 minutes of driving, when you get to 1600 revs, next step i was told it could be some sh!t in the pick up pipe, so sump off replaced that, back on still happens,

then i had the oil pressure checked and they said it was ok but maybe a touch under, so replaced the oil pump with the pressure relief valve attached thought it could be that but no it still beeps and flashes at me, replaced the pressure switch again as i thought it could be faulty, i have always used the same oil which it gtx magnatec 15w-40w, could this be the oil or summat like that,

if something was really wrong with it it would of gone bang by now surely, like bearing shells or summat

Help i dont know what else to do

tough one this...

if youve replaced 2 pressure switches i doubt there both faulty, and as youve change the pump and pick up pipe its very unlikey that these are faulty if genuine vw parts.. only thing i can think of is when you hit/drove with a busted sump a bit of crap has got lodged somewhere.... but i wouldnt have thought this would have got past the oil filter... have you changed the oil filter?? im assuming you have as youve done all the other bits, unless youve fitted a dodgey filter???

a 15 weight oil might be a bit heavy .. but i wouldnt have thought it made enough of a difference to trigger the oil pressure warning ... get some synta silver from the dealers (unless you can get it cheaper elsewhere) and try that.
