Buzzing from dashboard
« on: 10 April 2014, 13:54 »
Hi folks,

As soon as I turn the ignition on (even without the radio on) I get a continuous buzzing noise coming from the centre console of the dashboard. It will continue until a minute or two after I've stopped the car and turned the ignition off. Had the car a month but really haven't paid too much attention to until a couple of weeks ago - it's starting to annoy me now. Is this normal?

The stop go function is very temperamental especially at night where it will take almost an age to work. I find that turning the temp control off will make it work and if turn the AC on or raise the temp control it sometimes turns the engine back on. All very strange.

The car is running absolutely fine apart from these two niggles. Hope somebody can put my mind at ease.

This sounds like it is working as designed. If the car thinks it needs the aircon to maintain the settings you have then it will not use stop/start. Hence if you turn the HVAC off, it will work but if you have it on and raise the temperature significantly then it will start the engine to comply with your wishes...

Okay, thanks for that. That would make sense.
