Steam from under the bonnet
« on: 30 March 2014, 07:54 »
I have just parked up the car to wait for my lift to work and as i switched the engine off i noticed whisps of steam coming from the centre of the bonnet around the VW badge.

The car had just been driven at a steady 60mph on a clear road for around 15 miles prior to this, outside air temp was 6.5 degree's, water temperature was normal, no warning lights came on, no visable signs of fluid dripping and no real odour to the steam.

I flicked the bonnet open but could not really see where it might be coming from.

I waited around 5 minutes for my lift and the steam was still visable.

My only real explanation could be that it had a full wash and scrub on friday and there is some water somewhere flashing off, never seen it before though, will see what it does after the drive home tonight.
