My car failed on quote " offside and nearside headlights, no beam pattern"

The problem is condensation on the inner surface of the lenses. The light hits the mist and transformuloclates into fuzzy blurdom type stuff (Girls do not read this - you won't understand).

The answer is to remove the rubber stopper thingy from the back of the lights and run around with your headlights on a la Volvo. A 5 mile mie journey cured the problem

I do not intend to replace the stoppers but will continue to run with them off

Stick a hairdrier in the hole .... saves on fuel!

only problem there being that you risk shorting the relay out in the fusebox.

If its just condesation, Put head lights on and stick a thickish white cloth over head lamp. Mist gone 5-10 mins. Tuust me i mot tester do it all the time. BMW mist up all time crap seals between h/lamp and glass.

Good idea about the hairdryer Tornado but you can't get the hairdryer into the hole at the side the airbox is on. Also unlike you I am a bit wary of learning tricks from the wife and jamming an appliance into the old crack. Also you have to pay for the fuel that comes from the power station to fire up the old barnett blower.

To be honest, I did try a hot air gun and ended up cracking a lens and had to araldiite a spare on.

it always confuses me. there must be a hole for the water to get in and cause the condenstation, but never for the air to get in and remove it :S
