Could I not ditch the lot.

And buy a after market swirl pot, then use my standard lift pump and a inline high pressure pump?

So for this reason as mentioned above I've been looking in to a close OEM look if poss.
What I've found is a alloy fuel surge tank and 040 or 044 fuel pump.

Pump pressure is around 5 Bar (72.5 PSI)
Hose connection 12mm
Fuel Capacity BIS 228 I/h

Original fuel pump is 60mm for 2.0 16v Corrado and the pressure is around 5 to 6 Bar, I think ??
So isn't that far off from the 044 pump

Also found a alloy fuel surge tank sold by a company called (Etech tuning .com)
Cost is £146.30 with out the pump.
But complete with the 044 fuel pump cost is £286.51
It's fuel holding capacity is 2.3 ltrs
It's 7.25" long
It's 6" wide and then 8.9" wide from the mounting tap arms.
And 4" deep.
Weight is 5 lbs or (2.26 KG)

This would be an ideal replacement to the original old plastic one that we all have fitted ,
partly because I've seen a few photo's of one fitted to a Corrado VR6 or G60,

Or

BUT that will cost you near enough £250+ probably

This went up on club gti recently. Might even be you posting, but it might be of interest.

EDIT: just looked at both names and it is you. Sure you have already read it all then.

And clipper j checked link above and again sorry no stock.

Think I'm going to drop it off at weekend at see if I can repair it someway, failing that might get a custom one made up that will fit original pump

Well we have established its out of stock, but like I said I thought you would have taken the lead/initiative and emailed the owner and ask for a close substitute for the 16v one and hence Jetta or Passat alternative.
If Rubjohnny gave you another option to just have a main lift pump, and it works well with 5-6 bar then I you could have done that, but I'm guessing no options are good enough for you!
So good luck in a search for a secondhand one!

Bloody hell mate did you get out of the wrong side of bed today?

I appreciate all of the replys I've had both here and club gti I'm not dismissing any of them I'm simply weighing up all options to try and figure out which will be the most cost effective and longest lasting repair.

I have emailed a fee company's to get hold of a suitable alternative. Also vw main dealer in nottingham is having a really big hunt for me aswell for any lying around in stock.

Once I have decided on the route I'm taking I will do a FAQ including pics to help fellow owners when the have the same issue
