new on here and don't know much about tuning options, and was wondering if there is any chips you can buy online.

nothing i would want to do myself really. i know bluefin do a plug in map, but never personally installed one myself.

You should go to a trusted tuner - i went to AMD in Thurrock, Essex. great map for the mk5
i also always see great reviews on the r-tec map.

i would avoid the online maps at all costs ........

Hardly worth it on a mk3 8v and I certainly wouldnt pay for a £300 custom remap with no other modifications as you'll only get a few extra bhp. If you really want to chip it then get on eBay spend £30 - £40 and be satisfied with a marginal increase in drivability.
