What's the market like for MK6 GTis?

Hi chaps,
I have a new M135i coming next month, so will be looking to sell my 2012 GTi DSG. I got a good discount (£6k) on the Bimmer so not expecting a decent part ex price, so will probably sell privately.
Has anyone had any joy selling a GTi privately recently? Mine only has 17k on the clock so I was hoping it would be quite desirable...
Cheers

Webuyanycar will give you a good indication of what it's true trade value is. If the car is a nice one, they may pay good money for it, as it's the sort of car that will retail well through their outlets.
You could also use their valuation as a guide to what to pitch it at if you try Auto Trader or Piston Heads. The chances are it will get interest from traders on those too. Don't expect really strong money, as they'll need to leave some meat on the bone, but it will probably be an easier sale than waiting for a genuine private punter.

Congrats on your new purchase, I hope to be following in your footsteps later this year (despite Top Gear!)
You've still got remaining manufacturers warranty which will work in your favour with private buyers. As dubber says, work out the value from WBAC etc. and pitch it between that and what dealers are asking.
I suppose the problem is that most(?) buyers in that price range will want to opt for the finance package being offered by the dealers.
It's worth a go though, good luck, and see you on the babybmw forum maybe!

Thanks fellas. WBAC quote was just under £16k but that doesn't take into account the high spec (sunroof, RNS510, leather, park sensors/assist, winter pack etc), or the 4 new tyres, but it's a start I guess...!
