I've had an estimated BW as week 16 by my dealer. Just not sure how accurate this is or whether he's just talking BS.

My dealer was spot on with its BW8 estimation! It would be nice to be given a confirmed BW when you order your car

It would but it would be impossible as the factory can only plan firm production about a month ahead due to the vagaries of orders and component availibility.

The emails work fine for the status updates, I just like to check it manually if I have a minute!

the online tracker is a UK only thing does not exist in germany... gets populated in the uk I think with data from germany

My order is 'still with the factory' on the VW Tracker, how long does one have to wait to for it to change to the blummin' 'confirmed build week' step. 

Same. I've made the tracker my home page so I get to see it several times a day. As well as my home page on my phone 

I was told the dealer has a provisional build date on their system which can change but is generally correct.
