hi i have an 02 plate golf 1.9 gti , when i start the car up from cold i get a small amount of whitey bluey fumes/ smoke , it then progreses with time to get worse . if i drive the car off from cold straight away from ignition the smoke clears after a few minuits. it is burning diesel most defenately .
the car isnt losing coolant, no oil loss, no coolant mixing with the oil , i have had 3 garages look at it one told me me it was stem valve seals , another it was the turbo , and finally vw dealers did a diagnostics found no faults, but said it could be the head or the turbo , as turbo sounds a bit noisy. the car has done 72000 miles has had an engine flush, fresh quality oil , injectors have been cleaned with some kind of cleaning stuff that attaches to the fuel while the main tank gets disconnected.
question is where do i go?, do i get a pressure test for the cylinders and while head is off replace the stem valve seals and the rings? , or do i replace the turbo ? , or anyother possibilities ? . the car is 150 bh which has a common fault with turbos it does sound a little noisy . any ideas would be welcome thanks
