Hi guys,

I have a 2001 gt tdi 110, and the boot hatch keeps filling up with water. The rear washer hose is attached and a good flow coming out of the jet. No obvious leaks from the pipe.

The water spills out everywhere every time the boot is opened.

Does anyone have any idea where it is coming from?

Aside from drilling a few small holes in the hatch itself to let the water out, I am out of ideas.

Also it doesn't have a sunroof.

Thanks

Dom

Have you taken the boot door card off?

Yes I took the boot door card off to check whether the washer pipe had come away from the rear wiper motor.

Once the boot door card was removed, the water was visible.

Have you checked the seal around the rear screen? Or for that matter the boot seal?

Bit of an update…

I have changed the boot seal, dehumidified the car, thought all was solved.

However open the boot today and water poured out from it again.

Im going to do a hose test, probably put some silicon round the rear windscreen.

Fingers Crossed.
