Alloy scratched :(

Some cow driving her car taking a right around a roundabout decides she needs to be half way into the left hand lane whilst not looking forward but right out of her frikkin drivers door window!!! I had a second to move out and caught the kerb and resulted in this scratch  fortunately only on the front left nowhere else that i've noticed. I could kill her!

Is this fixable or what's my options?

yeah not a good picture I was shaking with anger at the time.

Its the thick white line going from the top of the spoke down to the left

About the same width a 1 pence piece and deep enough to run your nails over it to know its there

will get a better picture tomorrow when its light

If it doesn't feel so deep then maybe you've scratched the lacquer only, which can be painted over across the scratch with more lacquer and polished level. You might be that lucky. Sometimes in a situation like this I wonder whether it is best to stand your ground and hope they see you and correct themselves. If not, they hit you and it is their fault - hard to override the instinct to duck out of the way.

Looks to be fixable, although there are fewer firms out there that can refurbish the diamond cut finish.

These guys always get good reviews, and they're doing free courier / carriage at the moment.

I would buy a new wheel if I knew where, VW doesn't seem to show this standard alloy on their UK website.

I now know though to be more hesitant to approach parallel to another car with a kerb on my side

I asked at VW about buying new replacement wheels for alloys not on their website and they said they can get them in.  I asked about whether they could get 1x 18" Austin wheel for my GTI and the answer was yes, but it was expensive.  I think it was something like over £600 easily for the alloy alone then obviously it would be a bit more for moving your tyre over or buying and fitting a new tyre.  By the end of it all it would have cost me in the region of £700+. 

VW Exeter (Inchcape) also do a refurbishing alloy thing where they get their trusted company to send a refurbed wheel of the same type and model to replace your damaged one, they then swap them over and forward your damaged wheel back to the company to refurb and use to replace someone elses damaged wheel.  THis means you are not without a full size wheel for any period of time. 

If it were my wheel with that damage I would get it refurbished either at VW or third party and if it took some time to do so I would try to obtain a full size wheel to drive around on for the period of time without it.
