Mine was a December 2010 car so I don't see how the dealers can't fit Bluetooth or cruise muppets go to a different dealer

Dealers won't fit Bluetooth (other than the stick on Touch thing) as it's not an approved accessory and uses a non genuine wiring harness. Each car comes from the factory with a bespoke wiring harness depending on what equipment it has fitted. The additional wiring for Bluetooth is not available separately from VW parts. They just don't make it.

The kits that many of us have fitted use an aftermarket loom that plugs between the radio and the Bluetooth module, which VW won't guarantee.

Do you gave a link for this guide mate?

The dealers can be pretty competitive when it comes to fitting cruise. I paid £140 to have it fitted to my previous Passat, so I wouldn't expect it to be any more than £200 now. I think it is more difficult on later cars tho' due to the stalk being different. If your main beam stalk stays pushed forward when you turn it on, as opposed to springing back to the central position as it does on later cars, you should be ok.

As for Bluetooth, there is a really good fitting guide in this section. You can buy a plug and play kit from ebay for around £200. It will need coding, but that is just a matter of ticking a box. If you print off the screen shots from the fitting guide, anyone with VCDS will be able to do it in 5 minutes. Unfortunately the dealers won't do it. I've tried to get them to change settings on my cars, but they'll have none of it.

Sorry a link for the bluetooth guide?

This is the kit I have fitted. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-BLUETOOTH-KIT-SEAT-SKODA-MFD3-RNS-510-RNS-310-RCD-510-RNS-315-5K0-035-730-D-/271378140317?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f2f65cc9d

You'll see that it has white plugs on the mic wire. Depending on which radio you have, or if the car has voice control, the mic plugs into a different part of the harness. This kit allows you to plug the mic wire into the appropriate connection without having to alter the pins on the quadlock connector.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
