Newbie - from a 520d to a Mk 7 GTD
« on: 24 December 2013, 02:13 »
Hi,
I've been lingering around the forum for a few months but have taken the plunge to join and start to contribute.

I've a deep black pearl GTD on order, build week 4 I'm told.

So, I'm a second time VW owner, having previously had a Passat. Driving a BMW 520d at moment, but big changes to the company car scheme have forced a rethink.

Car will be used primarily on commute between Glasgow and Edinburgh on the M8 (all mod cons required including pro nav, dynaudio, etc to ease the journey!!). Balance between fuel economy and performance will be a biggy for me.  Beamer gets around 54 mpg on the commute, and that's with me not hanging back. Expecting the GTD to be better.

Welcome to the forum!
I'm from Paisley though my company is based in Erskine, got a Tornado Red GTD waiting for a ship in Emden for me!
This forum is great for info on the Mk7.
Like yourself I'm a company car driver, I'm getting 48mpg out my Civic 2.2, though I don't expect any better from the GTD, at least not till it's been bedded in.
