interior carpet question

I have a mk4 5 door. It had a leak inside and mould set in as it isnt being driven at the moment. So I have had to strip the interior and re do it all. I am looking for where I can get replacement carpets.

But there is a lining underneath the carpet. And I have no idea where to get it or what it is called. Would anyone be able to shed any light and help me please.

If I buy a second hand carpet. Is it attached or do I have to buy it seperately?

There is a thick sound proofing under neth doubt u would need to replace? Why don't u just clean your carpet??? Is it that bad?

I doubt that very much unless the seller includes it,as wayne has said its sound proofing/insulation and looking on etka it can bee sourced from vw or perhaps a breakers easy enough job to remove all carpeting/trim etc did this on mine to dry it out  and clean up
