scorpion 918 HELP !!!!!!
« on: 27 October 2013, 16:53 »
need help asap. got a 97 gti with a scorpion 918 alarm, i had to do some welding to get it through the mot. i took the earth lead off to do the work after finishing i reconnected the battery now my key fobs will not respond at all, i have never had a problem with the alarm before, both the fobs led's work when pressing the buttons and I've tried the method of turning the ignition on, connecting the battery, turning ignition off and holding the button down for ten seconds. I've taken the glovebox out and checked the fuses to the black box and made sure its all plugged in properly. the car will not start at all. any help much appreciated

Thats not a mk3 problem mate. Try the vw related chat.
I cant help.

Was the earth lead away from the battery? Sometimes they can fall back.
Its possible that welding has nothing to do with it and just taking the power away has affected the alarm.

I gave up trying to give help regarding the scorpion alarms (following a snotty email from vw!! I had to remove all the guides I had for them)

I would say get it removed and fit something better (I was quoted £50 for removal or free if buying/fitting another alarm for mine with the broken scorpion I have fitted)
