mk4 golf 2.0 8v gti injector problem
« on: 27 September 2013, 16:25 »
Hi guys i have a dec 2000 mk4 golf 8v gti and recently it has been running very lumpy. i have replaced the lambada sensor recently and its always been serviced every year. checked plugs and leads and they seem fine, i took one of the injector leads off and there was no difference but when i took one of the other side it ran even worse so i now think i might have an injector problem. there is 140000 miles on my car and im lookin to sell it but i wouldnt sell it to someone with it running bad. do injectors have to carry same part numbers?

cheers

Hello davy801. The first thing that comes to my mind is that your injectors needs cleaning. 140000 miles is a long way. Have you ever had them cleaned? The garage will have them volume-metered too. It's a €60 thing were I live. You could also buy a can of injector cleaner and give it a try. Just add it before refueling in the petrol tank and make a 100 mile journey. Don't be scared of the amount of the black deposits on your exhaust tips afterwards!
