First Ever Golf
« on: 15 September 2013, 10:03 »
well took possesion of my first ever vw yesterday,
after spending most of my life driving ford xr2's xr3i's and rs turbo's i fancied a change.
bought this off a chap i used to work with as he has decided to get wed (silly man) and has not used it for a couple of months so the tax and test have expired.
it started life as a grey 1.3 gl which he purchased off a friends daughter,
after a couple of years he decided to paint it red.
as he worked at a ford dealership i think they must of been over stocked on radiant red as this is the colour he chose with the moudings painted panther black.
he then found a gti 16 valve as a donor car and swapped all the running gear over.
after us negotiating a price i called a friend who has access to trade plates and he drove it back for me.
little visible jobs that need doing are.

o/s electric window not working.
tailgate wiper not working.
exhaust knocking underneath.
and it's sitting a little low for me(at the age of 48) and i am told that the suspension is adjustable coilovers which i will have to see how to adjust them a little higher.
so when i come back off my hols i'll take it for an mot and see how it get's on.
