Water leak
« on: 30 September 2013, 15:58 »
Hi guys, got water leak on me 8v golf, looks like its coming from behind the cambelt casing so rec its water pump?
Is that a big job or is it something I could do myself? Not to bad at diy. Also does it mean i have to remove the cambelt.
Any help would be great

As said, easily do-able. I found it easier to get a few screw type hose clips, 40mm diameter I think, as the springy ones are a ball ache to wrestle with. Get a new therostat as well, and I fitted a new bottom hose at the same time.

aye the springy ones are a complete ball ache. pointy nose vice grips are handy for removing them
