Electric window struggles...
« on: 24 September 2013, 17:49 »
Having problems with passenger side window, it goes down fine but when i try and put it up it seems to struggle and gets so far up then just stops and goes back down. It will be like this for a while then it will be ok for a while but will soon have issues again. Any ideas? Im thinking it's the motor but dont want to go and buy one if it will turn out to be sonething else?

Cheers.
Dan

Could be the cables have started to tangle/ interfere with each other on the reel. Only way to know for sure is to take the door skin out.

I have the exact same issue with the back passenger window (5 door). I managed to get it up, but have not dared to put it back down as I am worried the regulator would go or the window would get stuck.

Put the deadlock so my son can't use

Surely the wires would only tangle if the regulator clip breaks or similar (I have had this happen before). There are no real noises to speak of only that it really slows then just decides Nope, I'm going back down then youhave to mannually assist the window up. Then it will be fine fora while and then the fun starts again...

I don't know mate, but something isn't quite working as it should and that would be the first thing I'd check.
