Need urgent help
« on: 22 September 2013, 00:29 »
Hello guys am new on here so please go easy on me I thought I knew what I was doing when modifying my golf but I was wrong when I spoke to some one from r-tech so have joint this forum for some help,
My car is a mk4 golf 1.8t agu engine code, I bought a ko3s turbo which wanted a rebuild so took it to http://www.turbocentreuk.co.uk/ they recommended me to go hybrid so which I did which consist of ko3s compressor wheel and rs6 turbine wheel I have been told this is not the right combo any body has any advice on this I can't take it back now as its already fitted to the car

Mods I have done:
Ko3s hybrid turbo (supposedly)
Creation Motorsport tip ( I have been told these are restricted 200bhp because of they flow what I was told by r-tech any body else has any info on this matter
HKS mushroom air filter
eBay front mount intercooler 2inch pipe work are these any good
N75 j version have been told standard is better
Turbosmart bov
2.5 sport decat pipe mated to miltek exhaust system
Solid flywheel and vr6 clutch

Parts I have bought:
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Saab injectors
Vr6 maf

What do you guys think to my set up as I rang r-tech up to book my car in for a custom remap as I wanted to hit about 260bhp and he said to do abit more research and directed me to this forum what do you guys think I need to change or improve on to make 260bhp

Will really appreciate you advice guys

You'll struggle to see 260bhp with your current spec...

Quote
Mods I have done:
Ko3s hybrid turbo (supposedly)
Creation Motorsport tip ( I have been told these are restricted 200bhp because of they flow what I was told by r-tech any body else has any info on this matter - You'll need a better TIP for 260bhp
HKS mushroom air filter - These are pretty small aren't they?
eBay front mount intercooler 2inch pipe work are these any good - Pipework will be way too restrictive, you'll struggle to see much over 200bhp
N75 j version have been told standard is better
Turbosmart bov - Get rid of this for a Forge recirc valve.
2.5 sport decat pipe mated to miltek exhaust system
Solid flywheel and vr6 clutch

Parts I have bought:
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Saab injectors
Vr6 maf

Where can I buy just the 2.5inch pipe work
I will change to standard air filter box with piper cross panel filter will that be ok
Also will change bov to forge

I've been reading up will I have to change my actuator to a forge one as I've read standard are week

Prob eBay for the tip

Ash (autosiliconehoses) if your gonna build it yourself (check my build thread)

Piper cross in stnd box will be fine but you'll need a bigger air intake (dsg I think will be ok but prob a 3" aftermarket pipe will be better)

Yeah a forge actuator will be best but if they built it with a k04 actuator it should be ok

What is a dsg intake? Sorry for the noob question
My actuator is a standard ko3s one so looks like will have to go for forge on
If I buy sfs 3" tip can I fit my vr6 maf to this with my standard maf sensor will modify the air box to make it all fit will the car run ok like this or won't it or is it best to fit it on the day of the remap

Here's the info on the dsg intake:
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=87356.0

I plastic welded a 3" vent to my airbox instead and ran ducting down to the bumper, seems to work ok too.

I'd leave the injectors and maf till the day of the map
1999 1.8t AGU, KNN Panel filter, Smoothed air box, Custom CAI, Forge 007 dv, REVO stage 1, 3" eBay TBE. Audi TT quickrack.

To come - A DIY hybrid K03 and a whole lot of supporting mods!
