Not Having Much Luck
« on: 11 September 2013, 22:16 »
well, went to look at a 3 door 91 gti in oak green on monday.
had high hopes but was really disapointed.
paint seemed really flat.
i/4 panel had been re painted and it looked like they could not be arsed to take the spat off as it was covered in overspray.
all the other decent looking cars seem to be a million miles away.
got one to look at saturday which is been sold by a chap i used to work with many years ago.
it started life as a 1.3 grey golf.
it's now a "rosso red" golf with a 1.8 16v engine fitted.
he's a panel beater who used to work at a ford dealership and for some reason decided on the " ford rosso red " colour.
i'm not really one for origionality as i'm only looking for a fun weekend car.
from the pictures it looks quite good and i know he's spent quite a bit on it and it may just need a few little odds and sods to finish it off.
so fingers crossed it might be the one i'm looking for..........

You do need to put the miles in. At least living in the middle of the country, even the furthest trips aren't as far as they will be for some.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
