Warranty direct

Opinions?

Just set up my warranty in case the DSG sh*ts itself out the bonnet.

Ordered the top level of cover with Dealer cover.

£420 for 13 months. Wear and tear included after 90 days.

As hilarious as I found that description of the potential DSG failure, thats BLOODY expensive! What does it cover?
I thought Volkswagens were supposed to be reliable?

Well, I asked a LOT of questions. Basically, they've said it covers everything - I paid the extra £20 and got the SecureCare cover, which actually includes Auto/Semi Auto Gearbox ECU failures as well as all of the mechanicals.

Well the level of cover decreases with age and mileage and they only contribute up to a certain hourly labour rate.

I've not heard great things about these 3rd party warranty companies even when they do cough up. I reckon they could cause delays to a repair taking place.

Probably better off sticking some money away in a savings account or chucking the repair bill on a 0% Credit card..at least it's still there if you haven't used it!

Maybe sacrifice a small goat to the car gods in an attempt to appease them and prevent them from smiting your DSG gearbox? Although saving the pennies in a jar is probably more advisable, less messy and legal.
