Want to carb my 1.8 gti fuel injection engine
« on: 07 August 2013, 00:41 »
Hey all am new to this forum and need to ask for advice.

i recently bought a 1.8 gti dx engine and it came with some auxiliarys but not the wiring loom and ecu and some other stuff.

Am not sure where to start on finding these items ive been over ebay and stuff but not sure which ecu to get.

i dont know if it would be less hassle to just get carbs but am not sure what i need to change a fuel injection to run carbs. and is there anything on the engine that i need to change.

any advice would be greatly appreciated cause am at a crossroad and i wanna know which is the better way to go.

Thanks

Andy

Sounds very early, so may not have an ECU because it's K-Jet.

Going to carbs would be a rather retrograde step, especially as you have the injection pump etc all there - you'll be into swapping that for a low pressure pump etc.

Find someone with the bits you need and get it to standard.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
