How do I find out which Remap my 1.8T has plz?

Ive bought a 02 plate Mk4 Golf GTI 1.8T,

and it was stated on the advert its remaped, but he has no receipt. I can definetely tell it has been done though. It's way faster than my totally standard 1.8T, and also is quicker than a 02 plate Anniversary I test drove.

Just curious if there's a way of finding out which map it is. I have taken the car to my local independant VW specialist to turn off auto door locks (anti hijack) and central locking alarm arm/disarm beeps... I asked him if he could find out via Vag com, but he said no, and looked at me gone out when I mentioned "remap"

Unless the tuner has put tags in the file then its quite difficult to tell who has done it. You also need the right equipment / software to pull the files and look at it

Although if you see enough files you do get to spot how different tuners map the cars and from that you can work out who is who (roughly)
