Plenum Chamber

Was advised last service that I will need Plenum chamber cleaned, how important is this and what is the likely cost? Golf Gti MKV 2007 with 21k

Er... why would need the plenum chamber cleaned? That's what the air filter is for... :huh:

Are you sure, the garage/dealer is not trying to have you on?

what the hell you got in there? mines just got leaves and bugs in it, easy to clean out just blow it out with an air hose

thanks, sounds like something that should be done when it gets a full service next week, if they claim its extra i'll do it myself.

The plenum chamber shouldn't have anything in it.

The air box is a different matter, however, it is just a case of removing the bottom part of the airbox and cleaning that out.

some diesels soot the inlet maniolds up really bad over time. about shoudn't have at 21k

had dealings with a lot of coked up manifolds on older diesels thanksk to the EGR  easyest way to clen them is fire
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
