Interchangeable parts

Hi
New to the forum but I have just got hold of a 91 GTI 8v for my son. It needs a small bit of welding to the front jacking point but all else seems well.

My question is which if any parts are interchangeable from the MK3 as they are more available in scrappies, I did read somewhere that the rear calipers will swap over.

Any help appreciated as I have already read so many useful threads.
