TT subframe swap over torque value woes

I'm all set to do the TT front end swap over on my Golf next week and am just getting the final bits sorted. Looking into the torque value for the hub nut and my Haynes manual says 300Nm then loosen/re tighten etc. However according to various threads on the net apparently the value was revised and ammended in later editions of the Haynes to a maximum of 200Nm, followed by loosening/re tightening etc.
Can anyone confirm this?
I'm tempted to hire an impact gun for the job however this apparently provides a maximum of 450Nm of torque so a bit worried in case this is too much and I overdo it, although it would be extremely handy to speed the process along.

I pulled this from TT forum not sure if its right.

Bonded wheel hub initial 240Nm, final 265Nm
Greased wheel hub initial 190Nm.. final 190Nm + quarter turn
Says to do final tighten when car is on the groud.


Will your drive shafts fit the TT hubs ok?   Only ask cuz the set I got didn't (the splines dint match) ended up using the centres from my own and pressing them into to TT ones.

Cheers mate.

Apparently the issue with the driveshafts/hubs not matching is to do with using 4WD hubs off a TT/S3/R32. These cars tend to have a bolt instead of a nut to secure driveshaft/hub.
Luckily mine are from a LCR.
Also I'm assuming the differences are noticeable by the naked eye as I took them to AKS tuning where Alex is pressing in the new wheel bearings and he seemed to think they look like the type that I'll need.

Yea that's what it was.

Can you not ask your man ALex what the torque setting is?

I could ask Alex however it was more to do with knowing the figure sharpish as I may have needed to buy/hire a suitable torque wrench to do the job.
Been confirmed though that 300Nm as mentioned in the Haynes is infact a typo and it is indeed 200Nm which is spot on as I have a torque wrench that can handle that.

haha! apparently it's been rectified in later revisions of the Haynes and now states 200Nm.
