Bodywork problem
« on: 24 July 2013, 21:35 »
was going up a ridiculous steep hill that has an insane blind corner at the top and a mirror to see, a mini bus drove down so I let him go even though its my right of way then I set off but I guy keeps driving at me to the point I have to swerve inwards to not him but hit the rock wall edge and dented my car, too devastated to get his number plate or anything as definitely was my right of way!  :cry:
anyway here is the damage;

                                                       What do you guys think is the best plan of attack?

I'm up for attempting to do my self all though never done any body work or painting before but do have a bike that I can practice spraying on (if that helps?)

Thanks for any advice :smiley:

I think what I would do is hammer the top of the sill back down to get the door to sill gap right again first. then maybe try and hammer it out from inside. if you pull the carpet back there might be some holes in inner sill to get a drift through to knock the outer sill back in line or as close as possible. (cant remember if there is holes though). or you could just filler up the sill as is. for the doors you should take the door trim panels off the inside and try pushing the skin out. it will still need filling of course but the less the better.

You'll need to use a slide hammer to pull out the sill skin, as just using filler is a bad idea.
