MkVII rear end, esp lights??

Hi All

So, seen quite a few MkVIIs around now, admittedly no GTi / GTD's yet.

But ... am I alone? To me, the MkVII rear just doesn't seem to work. It's too severe somehow, especially the lights.

Looks like Darth Vader - though I suppose some people would see this as a positive I suppose.  :laugh:

Not saying it will stop me partaking, I'm holding out for details on the R. (Currently got a MkV Ed30, 5 years, 100k miles from new.)

Thoughts welcome!

Don't think it looks severe at all to be honest, I think it looks sharp. I admit that I didn't love it at first but it grew on my very quickly. I really dislike the Mk5, especially the rear and would never have bought one because of its looks, so we may have completely different tastes. I do like the Mk6 though (and have one).

Anyway do you remember Tiffany's ' I think we're alone now, there doesn't seem to be anyone around'

I love the 7 rear and all  :wink:

I don't really understand the term severe?? I wasn't all that impressed by the mk7's looks when it was released and i'm still not 100% on the lower spec models but the GTI/D, when i saw it in the flesh i love how low the back is compared to my slab sided mk6, it's almost coupe like and i really like it! 8)

The whole car (MK7) gives a much lower & wider impression over the MK 5 & 6. The MK 5 looks almost like a people carrier in comparison.

So, you guys seem like decent guys, so I'm sticking with my GTD order and sticking with the PW....and really glad I've ordered the 19's... cheers all...wobble over  :smiley:
