Best Colour is Shadow Blue

The choice of colours when buying a new Golf are ridiculous when your paying all that money. I love blue so the only one I could choose is Shadow Blue.

VW have made 36 colours for the Golf why can't we have more to choose from instead of 9.

2010 Golf GTD (170) CBBB, 5 Door, Shadow Blue (P6/D5Q), Flat Tyre Indicator, Basic Protection Pack + VCDS.

Agree, Blue Graphite Pearl looks good and it was available on the mk5 too. You don't see too many mk5 or mk6 Golfs in Blue Graphite, so maybe it wasn't that popular. I've seen discussion threads where some have mistaken it for the GTI / GTD only Carbon Grey metallic. They do look similar, until you get a Blue Graphite and Carbon Grey car side by side.

Many of the 36 colours were marketed as 'special' paint in Europe and were very expensive. From memory, the special colours cost around 1,700 Euro extra. Colour preference is always a very personal thing, but I think you'd really have to like a colour to pay that much extra for it!

Of the 36 colours that were available in Europe, setting aside the issue of price, if they'd all been available in the UK when I ordered my car, I still think I'd have chosen Carbon (Steel) Grey.
2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

I nearly bought the silver. It was very close to the point I could not choose.. It was only my family's views that made the decision.
Cleaning I find my silver leon so much easier to keep looking clean. The way it stays cooler in the heat too are the only reasons I sometimes regret not going for the silver.
I wish the silver was more mirror finish like diamond silver was.
