Car starts ok in mornings...but not any other time!

I would check ignition timing as if its to far advanced it wont want to crank over properly and of course when engine gets hot and compression improves it will be even worse. did you check your charging?

Get it scanned / buy a code reader before doing anything else.

You can scan mk3 ? i would get a new battery .Or better still upgrade to a mk4
