I would check ignition timing as if its to far advanced it wont want to crank over properly and of course when engine gets hot and compression improves it will be even worse. did you check your charging?

Get it scanned / buy a code reader before doing anything else.
You can scan mk3 ? i would get a new battery .Or better still upgrade to a mk4  :whistle:
AGU 1.8T. Mods done: R32 front bumper, turborev smic, ngk platinum spark plugs, uprated pancake pipe, demon motorsport boost hoses, forge 007 dv, forge engine cover, r-tec stage 1 map ,home made cold airfilter ,run on 98 ron fuel and castrol edge 0w 40 oil. Advanti racing alloys.

Thanks for that advice mate...sounds like it could be the problem. I checked the charging - everything seems fine.

would not rev past 5000 if thats the case. Does it rev past 5000rpm
