Standard factory rubber

Just thought it would be really interesting to know what tyres* folks are getting on their factory fresh cars?

* While we're on this topic, why do forum members hate Dunlop's so much, they've always been good to me?

Dunlops seem to be the most susceptible to "saw tooth" inner edge wear due to rear suspension being out of alignment by miniscule amounts.

They do have decent rim protection tho'.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Mine came with Bridgestone Potenzas. I had them in my old MKV GTI and they were ok.
My GTD had Dunlops, no complaints either really.

I think it's totally random. Your car will get whatever rubber happens to be closest to hand when being built!

My dad's GTD has Dunlops - hoping they run out when my car is built!

MK5 GT Sport TDI170 came with bridgestone Potenzas, lasted until 21k miles on fronts.

1st Scirocco 140TDI GT came with Dunlop Sport Maxx - shagged 3 tyres first winter due to very minor pothole bumps causing sidewall bulges, hence my dislike of them! Changed to Continentals.

2nd Scirocco 170TDI GT came with Pirelli P7 self sealing. Lasted to 14k miles only on fronts, due to excessive tyre wear on the centre and still 7mm left on the outer 1/4 on each side of the tyre (as if massively overinflated, but were actually inflated to VW recommendations on filler flap). Rears were still as new, got Michelin Pilot Sport 3s for the fronts as replacements.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
