Help needed regarding dealership

I would be asking why it only has one key,is the car stolen recovered after a house break in for the keys

Do they not replace the lockset if that is the case? 
I know when we bought an ex vwuk car once it only came with one key and we had to fight for another with the dealer in a similar manner to the original poster.
Many reason's I guess. Lost at auction, lost by dealer, lost by a previous owner, lost by blundering salesman...

Do you not need new keys coding at the VW dealership any more? When I ordered a new key for my 2008 jetta it came from Germany and had to be coded to the car by VW.

Well the AA came out today and recoded my new key. He had a blank key with him which he cut in the van while i watched.

He also wiped all keys stored to the car and recoded mine and the new one. The previous key will no longer work which is good to know.

Anyway it is all sorted, apart from the salesman being a blatent liar.

I'd start with a strongly worded letter to the dealership Manager expressing your dismay and dissapointed with the situation.........

Glad it's all sorted now.  Wonder why the salesman left the company- jump or pushed!
