Changing my oil

How much oil will I need for a full change, I've seen bottles of 4 and 5 litres and didn't want to get too little :)

Also is 5w/30 correct?

1.6 AKL engine.

dont know how much u will need,but i went to vw dealers on friday, i bought 5litres of 10/40 quantum fully synthetic for my auq . but depends wot service schedule ur on. it cost me £65 for 5 litres. hope this helps a little :smiley:

but woundnt know what ur engine would need, go to ur local dealer and find out :smiley:

You have been ripped off mate. I bought 5litres of quantum platinum, oil filter, fuel filter, sump plug and 2 litres of gearbox oil from my VW dealers last week for £67.

I paid around £30 for 5l of quantum and a filter from my local dealer!

Best off asking the dealers what oil to put in your car. Just paid £20 for 5ltrs of Quantum, it's a damn sight cheaper than places like Halfords

yeah I always go to dealers/tps/paiges and get what oil they specify.

usualy pretty cheep too.

Try this, you put your reg in and it'll tell you which oil you need and how much is required. We use it at my work and it's damn useful.
