rear valance removal
« on: 26 May 2013, 09:54 »
My rear valance on the car is knackered so I'm looking to replace it.
Im wondering if it's worth taking the whole bumper off or is it easy enough to change just the valance without removing the whole thing.
Also are there any tips to stop me breaking the plugs in the corner of the lights ?

Very easy. just remove the valance, 2 torques on each side T20 I think & 2 T30 torques underneath
then pull off. Might need to give it a bit of force but go gentle.
Silver 2001 1.8T AUM. Revo remap. hybrid K03s.  jetex filter. forge 007p. decat pipe. custom exhaust. anni front valence. rear 4mo valence. anthracite montreal 2 alloys. To be continued....... TIP, H&R suspension,Black 19" RS4 alloys, Carbon fibre wrap roof. anni rear valence, Almost there.....

It will probably take you about the same time if you remove the bumper as to if you don't. But if you don't you will struggle and lots of pulling and swearing, I guess if you aren't bothered about the old one then you could easily 'rip' it off gentley.

I found it easier to remove the bumper to get mine off, I didn't want to break any tabs as I was selling it.

Well what a pain in the arse that was
Managed to do it but ended up snapping the metal pin off the light in the corner and now it's stuck in the rubber hole. And also where I put the screw driver in to lever it out I chipped a tiny piece of the plastic on ny light.
Why the fu*k did they decide to put a metal rivet onto plastic and place it right in the corner of the light making it so difficult to remove without breaking something.
Wan**rs !
