Mk 4 Estate 1.8t 20v

Hi all bit of advice sought really i have the chance to get the above motor,well swap it for my Bora tdi.I dont do massive miles so the petrol/diesel issue is not a worry but what im after is a realistic price for the Golf i have checked Parkers and Car value and they came in at £1200 and £2600 which is no help at all so what do you fellas think?
The car is in good condition
Golf mk4 1.8t 20v estate
51 plate
96k fsh
AUM engine with Ko3s turbo and a rare car so i believe

when has it had its last cambelt/waterpump change ? just had mine done , ive had my 1.8t for 4 months and there was no hirtory on the cambelt so i needed to change it . that cost me £380 ,so make sure u take that into account b4 buying it  :wink:

plus tax an mot lengths , the 3 things i first look at when weigthing up if its a good deal  :smiley:

look for similar ones for sale on autotrader etc to get a better idea of what its worth bud.

with that limited info the parkers guide price is a pretty reasonable answer, i wouldn't value it at the top end though unless it had toys like leather, satnav or xenons.

mine was pretty good on fuel and didn't feel much bigger than a hatchback to drive
