Golf Mk5 Rear Wheel Bearings - Noise
« on: 12 April 2013, 12:30 »
Hi Guys,
I have a noise coming from the rear, every mate has said its bearings so i guess i need them done, i was hoping i just have loud tires. Anyway, i am pretty sure i could change this myself (i am pretty handy with the car) but i wanted some advice from you lot,
i think only one has gone, but i always do wheel stuff as a pair.

How do i know what size i need? (searched on Carparts4less.co.uk and they give several size options?)
will this effect the balance of the wheels? will i need to get that re-done after i have fitted them?
anyone got any other tips?

Car is: Golf MK5 Gti (55) 3 Door, 2.0FSI 200BHP, 17" Alloys standard.

Thanks,
Ben

Check the inside edges of the tyres and see if they have worn like a 50 pence piece

Its a common trait on the car. Id double check that before replacing the wheel bearings
