Disagree
Bushes are in a metal casings and sometimes have metal sleeves inside them to prevent the rubber from getting squashed and breaking.
Rubber bushes and rubber mounts do the same job but that is the difference between them
what about an an anti roll bar bush which is just a rubber with a clamp round it...ok so the a.r.b goes through but the rear top bush sits into the body and the shock goes through it (same principle to me)
As you pointed out, the anti roll bar bush is encased in a metal support.
Top mount has the chassis sitting on it and not encased at all. Same as engine mounts.
