I have tried all the VW cam swaps going in 8v and 16v versions, KR 9A PB ABF, nothing has worked as well as £600 spent with Mr Schrick on a pair of cams and vernier pulley.

Mine is 30 miles shy of 170k, running sweet, getting 35 mpg on long run, but need to change the downpipe as slight blow... Regular oil changes and changing the cam belts are the key to long lasting engines
