where are the drainage holes
« on: 23 March 2013, 21:10 »
Hello again,

I attempted to re-seal the metal plate behind the door card as i was finding a trickle coming through the bottom of it.
So i took the old seal off removed the metal plate expecting to find a shed load of water in there, but there wasnt.
So while it was off i had a look around inside the panel to try and locate the drain holes but couldnt find any atall. i also looked by the hinges and cant find any there either.

Am i being blind or does the 1999 mk4 golf 2.0 gti not have these drainage holes?

if they do, where are they?

the only holes i found were covered by the rubber flaps that are attached to the plastic plugs at the bottom of the door, but i think they are there just to make sure the door closes and sits snug against the footsill.

Or am i missing the point.

P.S... there was a trickle of water but hardly any inside the door panel. Why?
